Blog!  Why walking is crucial to aging in place.

There are plenty of studies showing a correlation between leg strength and mortality. We need to take a deeper dive.

How many of us are being told by doctors, you need to keep walking?

In my twenty years of personal training and fitness coaching, I have seen numerous clients age. Once my clients lose faith in their legs, the move to canes, walkers and wheelchairs. Once this happens all around health declines rapidly. Leg press machines, and squats to a chair can stabilize strength but it's not enough. If we stop walking, we also lose the neuromuscular connection. Movement signals to the legs from the brain are slower. This is a big part of our balance issue. Legs can still be strong, but the are slow in answering to the call.

Keep those pathways open. Walk more and live a longer life,

When the weather gets Too hot, or icy, walk in a mall, Find an indoor track. Live in a dwelling with stairs? Utilize what you have. Just keep walking.

Lets stay healthy together.
